Crazy Lady Alert

I don't know why I'm feeling like a crazy person again today. I did get on facebook a little more than I like....

Yes, I am someone who has to limit my facebook time so I don't get bogged down in other's lives and comparing them to mine.....I think that might be the case.....

I need prayers for an un-crazy day.

On a good note -- tonight is my first book club meeting! I finished the book and my good friend and fellow blogger, Jessica, are going to discuss the book with a group of ladies she knows! :) I am excited about that.

Post Vacation Rest?

What is it about vacation that makes you more tired? I am the world's worst about unpacking. I have started laundry, but it's very hard for me to get back in the groove of things.

I am working on a list to get everything done this week. I have been very prayerful lately about alot of things b/c I tend to take on everything that goes on around me. I get anxious about everything -- I turned ALOT over to the Lord today because it was becoming too much.....

I feel like others have so much together, and I'm still spinning trying to be the wife and person that I feel like I need to be.....on vacation. I didn't feel that so much, but now that I'm home. I feel it again. I'm really working on becoming my own person although I'm married....and being the best wife I can be and taking care of my husband.

This wasn't what I thought this post would be, but that's how it came out. I really am working hard.

Do you know that song: "He's still working on me"??

He's still working on me
To make me what I ought to be
Took him just a week to make the moon and stars
The sun and earth and jupiter and mars
How loving and patient He must be
He's still working on me

I sing this on a daily basis to remind me that He's in charge and He's still molding me into the woman He wants me to be!!

California Love

DISCLAIMER: MANY PICS TO FOLLOW

We (John's family and us) took a LOOOOONG trip to California this past week. We had such a great time! We flew into Sacramento, went to Placerville (think hiking, river rafting, etc), then Yosemite (more hiking) and then San Francisco.

I am such a home body - I was so glad to be home. Our flight was over an hour late last night from Denver, I thought I was never getting home. But we made it. Here are some highlights of our trip -- I think i have around 800 pics, so I won't bore you. I just might put them on facebook -- so if you're that interested, you can check them out.
Side note: I was totally impressed with San Francisco. It was clean, there were hardly any bums on the street -- and the people were SO NICE!! We rode the bus and taxis (my first time on public transportation) and one girl told us where we needed to go to get to our destination and the most scenic route -- she was trying to study while we bothered her! LOL

Again, we had so much fun....here are the pics:
This is the cabin we stayed in -- it was located next to the American River.

This is the view from our cabin (in Placerville)!

More scenery -- see how green??

We were walking back to the cabin and these deer were REALLY close!!

John missed our kitties -- so he chased the first one he could find.

On our way to Yosemite, about 4 hours from Placerville, the good ole rental Kia was a trooper!

YOSEMITE

This tree was big!! Small though in comparison to what is to come...

Absolutely breathtaking

Yes, yes, that is SNOW!!!

This is the only sign of a bear we saw -- other than the one above ;-)

Please keep in mind that John is 6 feet tall...

Whoops!

The biggest Giant Sequoia "The Grizzly Giant"

Ok, so this sounds like a tall - tale, but we seriously hiked 3 miles in the snow to the trees, then 3 miles back...any missteps....and this is what happens.

Chilunala (not sure if the spelling is right) Falls

Yosemite Valley

San Francisco
That would be a sack of 80 pieces of Ghiradelli chocolate...YESSSSS (I split it with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law).

San Francisco was beautiful

Homemade corndogs

I LOVE food network! That is the first channel I check before scanning other channels for something to watch. The days that I am at home -- it is on all day. It does make me want to try new things, but I generally don't. This one I did.

Sandra Lee of Semi-Homemade Cooking made corndogs this week. Having a ton of hotdogs for some unknown reason (seriously, I have no idea why we had so many hotdogs), I decided to do what she did and MAKE corndogs. This excited me because John loves corndogs for lunches, but you have to buy like 100 at a time. This way, I know what's in them, and it gets "rid" of my hotdogs.

IT's super easy:

depending on the amount of hot dogs and what you're mix makes:

corn muffin mix (follow directions basically-- I eyeballed milk and used 1 egg)
onion powder
garlic powder
salt
pepper

You want it to be pankcake batter like.
Dip your dogs
Fry until golden brown.

Another reason I loved it is that I got to use my deep fryer again. I try to not use it EVERy night, but I am tempted. I was trying to figure out if you could bake them, but I think the batter would run all over if you don't use a corn muffin tray or somethign like that.

Anyway, I thought I'd share. John is eating them up right now.

I don't know what my week holds, I am currently fighting off a desire to go to Hobby Lobby for more crafts supplies so they can sit in a bag until I feel that I'm ready to do it. I need to take time to become a well rounded person, right?!?!
