Dust, Dirt, Bleach, and Allergies

Ok, so one of our bookstores is moving up in the world! Well, moving to the corner spot in the shopping center it's in.

Let me tell you -- it's NASTY! I have been meaning to take pictures of the before and after, but I forgot the before. The after is still coming along. So I might take some pictures today of where it is right now.

We have had to clean pretty much the whole store in bleach! I had a headache all day on Thursday from all the cleaning and fumes....but -- that store looks WAy better and I'm no longer afraid to touch anything.

I keep meaning to put pics up of pretty much anything, but that would mean I need to take pictures.....LOL. I promise to those that pay attention, that I will.

2 weeks from today I'll be winging my way to the coast -- the California Coast!! HOORAY!!!!!!

Fat Like Me!

So, I can't help it. I think I'll always have a fat girl that lives inside me. You know that little voice that tells you that if you don't have 3 cookies now, they won't be there when you want another one. So you have to have them now.

Ok, granted, it's only me and John doing the eating, so if they're gone, I know who to go to (if it's not me). But, it's still something I struggle with. I always worry we won't have enough food. Or, I won't make what John really wants to something. It's this weird internal struggle I have. AND....if we're suppose to live our life to the fullest and live as if it's our last day -- that doesn't give us the right to eat ANYTHING we want -- see my confusion? ha ha

I read in a magazine about a woman who would do the same thing. She would think that she had to eat a brownie because if she didn't, she might not get to enjoy another one. Which is a silly thought, and she came to the realization, that she COULD have it on another day and it would still be there and be JUST as good, or better.

This is my new thought, at least trying to be my newest thoughts. That if i want a cookie, I could have one now, or could wait because I'll want one another time and that time it'll be just as good -- or maybe NOT -- then I won't want another one.

I know I'm rambling, it's just that it's lunch time and the scale hasn't moved and it makes me want to get a whopper and large fries and a Frosty (yes, 2 different fast food locales).

I'm also mentally planning the meals for the week, which means I have to think about food and what sounds good, what would be good, what's easy, what's with what I have in the freezer/pantry, etc.

I'm thinking of making the blogging world accountable for me. I will NOT list what I eat in a day b/c how embarrassing, but maybe in some way making myself accountable by having to daily or weekly list my activity or something. I don't know......

On a good note -- "Self Bikini Body Boot Camp" is awesome. I really like it, especially b/c it's in my living room, but I'm committed to it.....

You just CANNOT polish a terd

I know it's a little different from my previous post today but GOOD GRIEF!!!!

Some people in this world should NOT pro-create or be allowed to talk to other people in the world. I'm always amazed at the nerve of people. Everyone thinks their situation is special and that they are special. I still think that I work with the worst demographic of people but here's something that made me feel better.

John and I were in Circuit City on Sunday, they're closing the 2 OKC locations. There were signs everywhere that said "All Sales Final" and "No Returns". A lady brought back a printer that she had just bought and was going to return it. I was just waiting for an uproar, because you could tell she was THAT kind of lady.

This situation did make me feel better though because I realized, people are people. They are who they are no matter where they go. Because I continually tell John that people don't act the way they do in our store in Wal-Mart -- guess what?!?! THEY DO!

I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go around -- even if I wish it didn't.

What are the fruits of the Spirit? Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control -- I should try to practice those -- because I just re-read what I wrote and I did not show ANY of them.....hmmm.....convictions.....

PRAYERS people!! I need Help!!!!!

Tornadoes & the Power of God

Tuesday was an exciting day here in the great state of Oklahoma! As some, including my sweet Arkansan husband, like to call it "God's country" -- I cracked up, in fact, when the news anchor called it that on the news Tuesday night.

Anyway, oh, around 2 weeks ago, we had some ice. It was cold as all get out, it was icy, it was raining, it was snowy. It was WINTER. Then, 2 days ago, we had warm weather. Talk about giving me some spring fever. It was dreary on Tuesday, then it started raining. John and I were here minding our own business at work, when John's old roommate, good ole Shawn, called to let us know there was a tornado warning in our area. LOL. Didn't phase any of us, we kept working. In fact, John and I had to run an errand, and we were "storm chasing" while we did it. HA HA. We were standing outside watching the direction we knew the tornadoes were. On our side of town, things weren't too bad, some rain and wind. Some siren-age, but otherwise, things were ok. We did get some hail, which caused a little bit of fear in me.

We watched some weather channel and read some reports and a tornado had touched down near our neighborhood. I really was afraid that we would go home to no home, or at least to one without power. On the way home, I heard them give street names as to where tornadoes had hit, it was eerily close to our neighborhood. It was one of those times that you don't know how to feel. Do you feel scared to maybe have no home? Do you say, nah, it's ok, it wasn't our neighborhood? It was strange. Thankfully, when we got home, our house was fine, we had power. It looked like it had been off for a while, but it was on when we got home. Our cats were a little on the scared side, but sometimes they act weird anyway....

We watched the news to be sure we were out of the woods and they started giving reports where tornadoes had hit. I felt God's protection over us. The tornado hit 2 miles south of us and 2 miles north of us. It jumped over our neighborhood in a way.

I do hate it for the people whose homes it did hit. It hit a neighborhood with some high dollar houses and then some where normal people live. (Sorry to those who live in high dollar houses -- I'm a normal person ;)). It was strange to have tornadoes in February, but it is good to have God's protection around us all the time!

Thank you Lord for protecting us from the bad weather. Thank you for the sun shining days we have now. We praise you in all things!
